Welcome to the 'about us' section of plummer.co.uk. Although B Plummer & Son now solely concentrate on communication consoles we have been involved within the motor industry for many years. We give you this page in a bid to give you a better idea about the company, its background, our values and a bigger picture of the company that you are thinking of doing business with.

The company was originally founded in 1960 serving the car and commercial industry in accident and repair. We started off by offering our services for minor scratches, major car repairs and total vehicle refinishing.

After we quickly built up our trusted reputation this soon progressed to purchasing a commercial vehicle coach building company . From there on we built flat wooden bodies to carry produce and general building material cargo. Our business then spiralled on to become a renowned and well respected builder for livestock containers, horse boxes and mobile shops through out the country, this carried on all the way through the 1960's.

As time went on and technologies changed B Plummer & Son changed with it. Along came the 1970's which brought the time of chassis jigs and spray ovens. With this new technology evolving it prompted us to move to a larger, newer and more capable site. Vehicle bodybuilding became the new name for coach building and with this came the new types of vehicles to build. In a similar light to what modern vehicles are equipped with today we built refrigerated bodies, curtain siders, GRP boxes and drop sides. We repaired, refurbished, and built many of these types of bodies for large well known companies in East Anglia and the rest of the UK. This carried on through to the 80's and early-mid 90's.

By the time we were well into the 90's the original founder of the company retired. After offering an excellent deal to his son who at that time was working as a manager in the company a new director was born. This prompted the change in direction that we see today. With mobile phones being one of the largest growing markets in the world the new director realised that there was a growing need for a company to offer some sort of solution for motorists and their new technology. With high quality products that suited the customers requirements, great customer service and an ever increasing demand saw B Plummer & Son grow into the company that it is today.

The company has very recently welcomed another member of the Plummer family into the business - which means that we are now in the third generation. The new member of the company brings with him as much enthusiasm and energy that came from the previous generations. Therefore, the company is looking stronger every day and we look forward to obtaining the Plummer reputation and keeping a strong relationship with all of our customers, old and new.

We are now one of the most respected companies in the manufacturer and retail of communication console systems around the world.
